1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information BarnRoll collects, why, how it is used, who can see it, how it is protected, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted. It applies to the BarnRoll web app at https://app.barnroll.micagostore.com and to this website, https://barnroll.micagostore.com. BarnRoll is operated by Mica Go Store LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
BarnRoll is a barn-record app for FFA and agriculture students raising livestock projects, and for the teachers who supervise them. Students record the care of their project animal; teachers see the records of the students in their chapter and receive health alerts.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what you give us when you use BarnRoll, and nothing from other apps or devices:
- Account information — your name and email address, from the sign-up form or from Google if you choose "Continue with Google" (see section 4), plus your language and whether you are a student or a teacher. Purpose: to create your account, sign you in and show your name to your chapter.
- Student profile — grade, FFA member number, YQCA certification expiration date, an optional profile photo, and the parent or guardian email addresses the student chooses to add. Purpose: to identify the student to their teacher, remind them before the YQCA certification expires and, later, let parents follow the project.
- Chapter information — the school, the chapter name, the teachers' email addresses, the join code and which students joined. Purpose: to connect each student with the right teacher and nobody else.
- Animal and care records — the animal's name, species, breed, sex, tag and ear notch, pen, dates, weights and photo; feeding programs and the products used; barn visits with check-in and check-out times and checklist answers (feeding, appetite, water, eyes, manure, mobility, grooming); weigh-ins; vaccines, dewormers, medications and vet visits; problems reported; and target shows. Purpose: to keep the project record, calculate growth, withdrawal dates and alerts, and show it to the student and the chapter's teachers.
- Photos you choose to take or upload: profile photos, animal photos, and photos attached to weigh-ins, checklist answers, health records, product labels and problem reports.
- Messages to us — your name, email and message when you write to us or use the contact form on this website. Purpose: to answer you.
We do not collect payment information, precise location, contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers or any data from other apps.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above only to provide BarnRoll:
- to sign you in and keep your account secure;
- to show each student their own records, and to show the chapter's teachers the records of the students who joined that chapter;
- to calculate average daily gain, withdrawal end dates, show countdowns and alert levels;
- to email the chapter's teachers when a problem is reported or a checklist answer needs attention;
- to answer support requests and keep the service working and secure.
We do not use any information for advertising, marketing profiles or selling, we never sell or rent it, and we do not use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. BarnRoll makes no automated decisions about students: alerts only notify the teacher, who decides what to do.
4. Google user data
BarnRoll offers "Continue with Google" as an optional way to sign in. This section explains exactly what BarnRoll does with the information it receives from Google.
- Data accessed: BarnRoll requests only the
openid,emailandprofilescopes. From them it receives your name, your email address, your profile photo and a Google account identifier. BarnRoll has no access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, Photos or any other Google service or data of yours. - Data usage: this information is used only to create your BarnRoll account, to sign you in, and to show your name to the teachers of the chapter you join (or, for a teacher, to the students of their chapter). It is not used for advertising, it is not used to build profiles, and it is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
- Data sharing: Google user data is never sold, rented, traded or transferred to anyone. The only third party that processes it is our hosting provider, Base44, which stores it on our behalf to run the app. It is disclosed only if the law requires it.
- Data storage and protection: the data is stored in the BarnRoll database hosted by Base44, protected by authentication and per-record access rules enforced on the server, and transmitted only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Only you, your chapter's teachers (your name and email) and BarnRoll administrators can see it.
- Data retention and deletion: the data is kept only while your BarnRoll account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and all of its data at any time by writing to barnroll@micagostore.com from the email address of the account; we delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also remove BarnRoll's access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
BarnRoll's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Third-party services we use
- Base44 — app hosting, database, sign-in and file storage, running on its own infrastructure providers. Privacy policy.
- Google — Google Sign-In (if you use it), and Google Workspace / Gmail, which sends BarnRoll's alert emails and the contact-form messages from barnroll@micagostore.com. Emails include the student's name, the animal, the pen and the problem reported. Privacy policy.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, AI providers or payment processors.
6. Who can see your data
A student's records are visible to that student, the teachers of the chapter the student joined, and BarnRoll administrators. They are not visible to other students, other schools or the public. We disclose data only if required by law or to protect someone's safety.
Photos: student profile photos and photos attached to health records, weigh-ins, checklist answers and incidents are stored privately and shown only through links that expire. An animal's profile photo is stored with a long, unguessable link that works for anyone who has it.
7. Cookies and local storage
BarnRoll uses only what it needs to work: a sign-in session, your language, and answers saved on your phone until they can be sent when the barn has no signal. No advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Data retention
Records are kept while the account is active so they can serve as the project's record. When you ask us to delete your account at barnroll@micagostore.com, we delete your account and records within 30 days. Uploaded photo files can remain in our hosting provider's storage after the record that referenced them is deleted; private photos are no longer reachable through BarnRoll once that happens.
9. Your rights and choices
You can see and correct your records in the app. You, or the parent or guardian of a student under 18, can ask us at barnroll@micagostore.com for a copy of the student's data, a correction, or its deletion. We answer within 30 days.
10. Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Access is enforced on the server with per-record rules, sensitive changes go through server checks, and alert recipients are taken only from verified chapter memberships. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you.
11. International transfers
BarnRoll is operated from the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
12. Children's and students' privacy
BarnRoll is meant for high school students (13 and older) and their teachers. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn we have, we delete it. When a school program uses BarnRoll, we act on the school's behalf for the student records it creates and use them only to provide the Service. Parents and guardians can contact us at barnroll@micagostore.com at any time.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes and notify users in the app or by email before important changes take effect.
